Move the information. Preserve the business meaning.
A useful migration carries more than records into a new system. BlueBlocks helps scope source assessment, conversion and reconciliation so you can compare providers around the information your business needs to trust.
Plan the move around information the business must keep.
A useful proposal connects the technical work with the result your organisation needs. Explore the parts of this service that make the difference.
01
Understand source and target
Identify record types, owners, dependencies and the information to retain or exclude. Ask how data quality and required transformations will be assessed. Clarify which decisions belong to business owners rather than leaving them with the migration team.
02
Design and rehearse the move
Compare mapping, preparation, trial transfers and reconciliation. Include attachments, linked records and changes made while migration work is underway. The approach should make difficult cases visible before the final transfer.
03
Agree the acceptance
Define what the client will check and who can approve the result. Include rollback, source access and the support needed after cutover. A useful handover explains the remaining exceptions and the evidence that the agreed information arrived correctly.
Recognise the opportunity
Successful transfer does not automatically mean usable data.
Fields may be mapped while relationships, historical meaning or attachments are lost. Different systems can also represent the same business event differently. A migration requirement should explain which information must remain usable, how it will be validated and who decides whether the new environment is ready.
We help define useful deliverables so you can compare provider approaches and agree what successful completion means.
Confirm the outputs and acceptance criteria with your chosen provider.
A source-to-target scope with retention and ownership decisions
Mapping, cleansing and trial-migration requirements
Reconciliation and business validation evidence
Cutover, exception handling and source-retirement arrangements
Why BlueBlocks
The right expertise. A clearer decision.
We help connect technical transfer with the business meaning behind the records. Compare specialist proposals on preparation, validation and accountability, so the organisation knows what it is accepting.
For your organisation
Start with a clearer requirement.
Bring your challenge or an existing proposal. We help clarify the scope, identify relevant expertise and compare the approaches. You choose your provider.
If deeper discovery is needed, we help scope that assessment before you commit to implementation.
Migration specialists and application partners can identify the client decisions they need. Show how your team preserves relationships, explains exceptions and coordinates with the platform and support providers.
Show us your capabilities, delivery coverage and relevant industry experience. We work with local and international specialists around the needs of each opportunity.
You do not need a finished technical brief to connect with BlueBlocks.
Should we migrate every historical record?+
That is a business and retention decision. Define what must remain accessible, where it will be retained and what the new application needs. The provider should not make unexplained deletion or retention choices for the client.
What happens to records that cannot be converted?+
The requirement should include an exception process, ownership and reporting. Agree how unresolved records affect acceptance and how users will access any information retained outside the target system.
